Mogadishu (SD) – The president of Jubaland state Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Ahmed Madobe) has met with members of both houses of the federal parliament representing the Jubbaland state in Mogadishu.
The meeting was a luncheon hosted by Ahmed Madobe for lawmakers, he delivered a speech on the political situation in the country.
Ahmed Madobe told lawmakers that the long feud between him and the central government was over, and that he was not upset with lawmakers who supported the federal government during its political battle with the federal government.
“MPs, let’s forgive each other. I don’t think you are upset with me, but you probably think you have not sided with the old man and while he fought the long battle.
The Jubaland president at the meeting with members of both houses of the federal parliament representing the Jubbaland state requested three things from them.
- That the they vote to confirm the country’s new Prime Minister nominated by the President and to work with him during his short term.
- To ratify the new agreement on the election process.
- The parliamentarians should know that there is no animosity and they will be welcomed by the administration.
The regional president finally told the federal MPs to work towards strengthening the country’s central government.
