Hargeisa (SD) – The Chief Justice and Chairman of the Judiciary Committee Adam Haji Ali met with the Head of the UK Office in Somaliland Mr. Stuart Brown at his office.
The officials talked about the long-standing relationship between the Republic of Somaliland and the UK government, and ways to maintain that friendly relationship.
Chairman Adam Haji Ali asked the envoy to strengthen and continue UK’s support to the country in general and the judiciary in particular, Somaliland is always ready to develop the judiciary, which is currently funded by the government, and for Somaliland to receive the rightful support, which UK gives to the world.
He also thanked the UK Government for its previous co-operation with Somaliland, in particular the case management servers that were officially handed over yesterday, the severs were tested in the courts of Hargeisa, and with funding they are to be distributed to the rest of the country.
The Head of the UK Office in Somaliland Stuart Brown for his part, discussed the country’s much anticipated elections and other issues in the country in which the judiciary is involved with the Chairman. Stuart Brown also pledged continued support for the judiciary, briefing the chairman on the reorganization of UK aid offices around the world.
Finally, the meeting concluded with the understanding to continue the long-standing partnership between the UK and Somaliland.
