Mogadishu December 27, 2022 (SD) – According to VOA reporting, Al Shabaab fighters have imposed restrictions on vehicles and employees of the telecommunications company Hormud Telecom.
sources told the VOA that Al Shabaab stopped the movement of vehicles and employees of the Hormud, the largest Communications Company operating in Somalia.
It is not yet known the official reason why Al Shabaab restricted the telecommunication giant.
The move comes at a time when Al Shabaab has been driven out of many areas in central Somalia by government and local forces.
Somali companies have previously been accused of giving Al-Shabaab taxes that fund their operations.
