ADALE (SD) – Reports from Galmudug state confirm that houses in southern Mudug region were set on fire by Al-Shabaab fighters who went to the area last night.
The houses burnt down by Al-Shabaab were in Adale district, displacing residents.
Local forces supporting the Galmudug forces went to Adale early this morning, reportedly conducting security operations in the area, following the Al-Shabaab attack.
The Galmudug administration in Mudug region has not yet commented on the burning down of the civilian owned houses in Adale.
Al-Shabaab is known to attack southern Mudug regions where it has clashed with Somali Federal Government forces, Galmudug administration and other allied armed militias.
