MOGADISHU (SD) – Somalia’s Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble alleges the same culprits that assassinated Ikraan Tahliil and MP Amino Mohamed Abdi were the same.
Roble made the remarks at a tribute held in Mogadishu for the slain former lawmaker Amino Mohamed Abdi and other citizens killed in the recent bombings in Beledweyne.
“The hand that killed Ikraan Tahlil also killed MP Amino. Before her death, we received threats that we would be blamed for what happens as result of opening up her seat for competition,” Roble said.
PM Roble said that him and the late MP were working together to bring justice to Ikraan Tahliil’s killers but noted that the case had been politicized and dismissed, which he described as unfortunate.
Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has vowed that the groups behind the killing of Amino and Ikraan will one day be brought to justice, even it gets him killed at the end.
The memorial was also attended by former Somali government officials, members of parliament, traditional elders and community members.
