Kismayo (SD) – Jubbaland security and intelligence forces conducted operations in Kismayo neighborhoods nabbed suspected Al-Shabaab militants.

Jubaland security apparatus claimed the arrested men were a terrorists cell hiding among the community.

The men, who are said to be in three, carried out recent acts inside the city with the intention of disrupting security and harming civilians, according to the command.

“The arrest of this network came after the Jubbaland security and intelligence forces conducted a series of operations in the neighborhoods of Kismayo,” a statement from the command said.

Kismayo, the seat of Jubaland administration have been experiencing an increased insecurity due to attacks on civilian targets by Al Shabab and other clan militias as well.

The Al Shabab group is yet to comment of the arrest of their alleged cell in Kismayo.
