Al-Shabaab claims to have killed 12 security company soldiers in Mogadishu

Mogadishu (SD) – Al-Shabaab has issued an additional statement on Thursday’s bombing near the Benadir intersection in Mogadishu.

Al-Shabaab has previously claimed responsibility for the bombing, but has not released the exact number of casualties, but is now claiming the blast at least killed 12 black and white soldiers.

Al-Shabaab said the officers killed were working for a company called Pacific Architects and Engineers (PA&E), that provides defense and military assistance to US, AMISOM and federal government forces.

“An American and a Ugandan security guard from Pacific Architects and Engineers were killed in an ambush in Mogadishu last Thursday,” al-Shabab said in the statement.

According to local media reports, three civilians were killed and many more were injured in the attack.

An AMISOM vehicle was also destroyed in the attack, but no casualties were reported by AMISOM, as it normally does not disclose most of casualties.
