Mogadishu October 09,2022 (SD) – The Al-Shabaab group warned Somali media in siding with the government, calling on them to do their work with integrity and honesty.

“The media that abandons neutrality will be recognized as part of the fight against the Mujahideen who stand for Islamic Sharia,” Al-Shabaab said in a statement.

The Somali government declared war against Al-Shabaab run media yesterday and since shut down most of the sites that used to broadcast the groups propaganda.

The orders issued by the government and Al Shabaab in the last two days will have a great impact on the country’s fledgeling media.
