MOGADISHO (SD) – Al-Shabaab has reportedly started targeting businesses in Mogadishu after the businesses complied with a government order to install CCTV cameras.
Yesterday, an explosion occurred at an auto parts store near Black Sea in Hodan district, resulting in damages to the premises.
Al-Shabaab has previously expressed opposition to the government’s order, threatening businesses that comply with the directive will face consequences.
Many businesses in Mogadishu have complied with the government’s directive to install CCTV cameras, and this has led to increased tension between the business community and Al-Shabaab as it continues to oppose the government’s order.
The situation underscores the ongoing power struggle between the government and Al-Shabaab in Mogadishu, with businesses caught in the crossfire.
