Somali Government issues flood warning

MOGADISHO (SD) -Somalia’s National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has once again issued a warning about heavy rainfall expected in the remainder of November and the start of December 2023.

In a statement, SoDMA mentioned that the projected rainfall during this period is likely to cause significant flooding in various parts of the country.

The agency anticipates that the affected regions, including Bari, Nugal, Sool, Sanag, Togdheer, Bay, Lower and middle Juba, and Banadir, may experience intense flooding, with the possibility of receiving between 50-100 mm of rainfall.

Additionally, SoDMA stated that districts in the regions of Mudug, North-West, Lower Shabelle, Middle Shabelle, and Gedo, are expected to receive heavy rainfall ranging between 30 and 60 mm.
