MOGADISHU (SD)-Al-Shabaab has launched an attack using mortar shells on a security checkpoint where government forces were stationed in the Kahda district. The assault resulted in a clash between the government troops and the attacking Al-Shabaab militants.
The checkpoint that was targeted, known as Buurta Cali Jannaale, and the fighting involved various types of weapons.
So far, there is no information regarding casualties from the battle, although officials stationed at the targeted location have stated that they managed to repel the attacking Al-Shabaab group.
Al-Shabaab has carried out multiple attacks in Mogadishu and other regions of the country, targeting military bases held by government forces and ATMIS troops.
