DJIBOUTI (SD)-The Government of Djibouti has denied rumors circulating on social media about President Ismail Omar Guelleh’s health, as he reportedly returned to Djibouti today.

Djibouti’s government clarified that President Guelleh is in good health following recent reports that raised concerns about his condition. The Minister of Finance, Ilyas Moussa Dawaleh, confirmed that the president is healthy. However, he is experiencing some pain in his right knee but did not provide further details.

“The president is working and is in excellent condition. You may dislike a leader to the point of falsely declaring a Muslim person’s death… yes, he has some pain in his right knee, but he is human,” said Minister Ilyas Dawaleh.

The minister’s statement comes amid recent speculation about President Guelleh’s wellbeing, suggesting that he had been hospitalized for his condition.
