Hargeisa (SD) – A delegation led by the British Ambassador to Somalia currently in Somaliland visited the Hargeisa Water Agency headquarters and the water quality laboratory.
Mohamed Ali Darood, manager of the Hargeisa Water Agency, briefed the media on the delegation’s visit.
“We met at the Hargeisa Water Agency with Ambassador Kate Foster, UK Ambassador to Somaliland / Somalia and a delegation led by the UK Office for International Development (FCDO) and the Somaliland Development Fund (SDF). said Mohamed Ali.
The manager of the Hargeisa Water Agency gave details of the UK government’s involvement of the Hargeisa Water Project.
“The UK Government is one of Somaliland’s partners in supporting the development of basic infrastructure. The UK Government is also one of the largest donors to the Hargeisa Water Project and the former Hargeisa Water Quality Assurance Laboratory initiative with the support of the Somaliland Development Fund (SDF).” said Mohamed Ali.
Adding “Expanding and collecting water wells, disbursing funds for the 23km Geed-Deeble pipeline to Hargeisa and implementing the design and exploration of the city’s water supply project are among the areas most supported by the Somaliland Development Fund (SDF), which receives most of its funding from the UK Government.”
