Mogadishu (SD) – The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has confirmed that civilians have been killed in clashes between their forces and Al-Shabaab militants in the Janaale area of Lower Shabelle region.

An AMISOM statement said that on June 8, al-Shabaab attacked a roadblock to the AMISOM contingent in northeast Janale, following a confrontation with AMISOM’s response.
