Mogadishu (SD) – Reports from Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, indicate a deadly explosion targeting federal government troops in the Hodan district.

At least two government soldiers were killed and about 5 other soldiers and civilians were injured in the blast.

The assailants used what looked like a police vehicle for the deadly blast today in Mogadishu.

So far there has been no word from security officials on the blast, but the situation remains calm.

A similar explosion targeting a former deputy commander of the Somali National Army Mohamed Ali Barise. happened in the same area last June killing lots of civilians.
