Arab parliament issues stern warning to Somalia’s neighbors

Cairo (SD) – The Arab Parliament has discussed the political situation in Somalia, especially the elections to be held at the end of 2020/2021, at a time when there is still controversy over the appointment of committees.

A statement from the Arab Parliament in Arabic said it was important for the country’s elections to take place on time and for the implementation of the agreement reached.

The Arab parliament also said it would never allow Somalia’s neighbors to interfere in the country’s elections at the end of 2020/21, and warned countries in the region to intervene.

“Rejecting all interference by some neighboring countries and some in the region trying to disrupt the electoral process in a constitutionally agreed manner.” Said in the text.

The parliament stressed that Al-Shabaab’s attacks on innocent Somalis will not hamper the Somali Republic’s efforts to ensure security and stability in the country.
