Tuesday, September, 13, 2022 (SD) – Somalia National Army carried out planned operation in Lower-Shabelle region, in a Al-Shabaab Group hideout.

The operations took place between Number-50 and Gendershe, areas were the extremist group had big settlements and strong active, fully operational Islamic Courts. 

An Army official who spoke about the force’s operations said that they destroyed the Extremist group’s infostructures in the forested lands of Maracadde, Ceel-Saliini, Qodqoda and others. 

“We launched the operation after we discovered that the extremist’s group had settlements in the heavily forested regions and were an inhabited hideouts. The group, use it to summon people collecting hefty taxes ,” said an Official Officer who spoke to the State Media. 

The Army operations coincide with the parallel planned intensifying Coordinated, ongoing attacks against Al-Shabaab from many fronts, in Hiiraan, Galgadud Bay & Bakool regions for the past days, alongside with The Local Community Forces.
