Hudun (SD) – Somaliland’s Police commissioner in Hudun, Osman Mohamud Salah died in a confrontation between the Police and a group attacking the district police station.

Mohamed Jama Hirsi, the Mayor of the Hudun town of Sool region, confirmed to local media that the commander was killed in the attack of the police station.

The Mayor didn’t elaborate on how the investigations of the murder is going.

Reports indicate that the attack was followed a police raid on an Alcohol transport earlier in the day.

Officials from Hudun district of Sool added that drugs, especially alcohol and groups trafficking them are the source of a serous security threat in the district.

Somaliland government has yet to comment on the assassination of the Hudun Police chief this afternoon.
