Hargeisa (SD) – Astan TV staff and management held a demonstration against the arrest of their CEO’s in Hargeisa, the media house’s founder Abdimanan Yusuf is in custody in Hargeisa for the last two weeks.

A peaceful demonstration by reporters and officials of the media house in Hargeisa called for immediate release of Abdimanan Yusuf.

The director of Astan TV, has been held incommunicado and has not yet been charged, Marodijex Regional Court remanded him in custody for seven more days last week.

Traditional leaders in Mogadishu held a press conference in Mogadishu this week and demanded that the Somaliland government release the Astan TV CEO immediately.

Somaliland government is yet to provide details of Abdimanan’s arrest.
