Mogadishu December 12,2022 (SD) – The African Union forces in Somalia ATMIS said they will support the Somali forces in their fight against Al Shabaab.

The African Union representative in Somalia and the head of ATMIS Mohamed El-Amine Souef said they will work closely with the Somali forces in the fight against Al Shabaab.

The representative made the remarks at the Somali federal government’s reconciliation framework review.

The AU forces in Somalia have since their deployment in 2008 to Somalia have only focused on training and protecting government facilities.
