Mogadishu (SD) – The Benadir regional administration has today given details of operations carried out by the security forces in some Benadir district neighborhoods of Mogadishu.

The operations took place in Daynile, Hiliwaa and Wadajir districts and Elasha Biyaha on the outskirts of Mogadishu, according to the Benadir regional administration.

Salah Hassan Omar, a spokesman for the Benadir regional administration, told the media in Mogadishu that 23 Al-Shabaab members were arrested during the operation, most of them had explosives in their possession.

The spokesman also said that security forces in Yaqshid district killed one of three men who were burying an explosives on a road used by Yaqshid district administration officials last night.

Al Shabab did not yet comment on the operations and the arrested and killed fighters.
