Jowhar (SD) – Reports from the Middle Shabelle region say that Somali government forces have been targeted in an explosion that caused casualties and injuries.

Reports from Jowhar in Middle Shabelle region say that a convoy of government troops traveling to Bal’ad was targeted by a huge explosion which caused heavy casualties.

Nine government soldiers were killed and several others were injured in the blast.

Colonel Saney Abdulle, the officer who was targeted in the blasts, was not hurt in the attack, according to local sources.

The Hirshabelle administration and security agencies have not yet released any information about the explosion that killed the soldiers.
