China to assist Somalia’s health sector

MOGADISHU (SD) – The Chinese government has made a significant health-related commitment to the Federal Government of Somalia following a meeting today in Mogadishu.

The meeting was specifically between the Minister of Health, Dr. Ali Haji Adam, and the Chinese Ambassador, Fei Shengchao, who visited the Ministry of Health headquarters.

The Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Mohamed Hassan Mohamed (Bullaale), and other officials from the Ministry of Health were also present at the sensitive meeting.

Both parties exchanged views on strengthening the long-standing friendship and enhancing cooperation between the Ministries of Health of China and Somalia.

Following this, Ambassador Fei Shengchao promised that his government would assist Somalia’s health sector in many ways and would double China’s efforts to contribute to the development of Somalia’s health sector.

The Federal Government of Somalia’s Ministry of Health stated its commitment to strengthening relations with the health ministries of developed countries to achieve its goal of providing comprehensive quality healthcare across all regions of the country.

China is one of the major countries providing strong support to the Federal Government, assisting in various areas such as health, education, and humanitarian issues.
