MOGADISHU (SD) -Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, received in his office the Chinese Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa, Ambassador Xue Bing, and they discussed enhancing the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Chinese officials in Somalia, Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Balcad, and the advisor to the Prime Minister, Drs Hodan Osman.

Prime Minister Hamza expressed gratitude to the Chinese Government for its multifaceted support to Somalia, highlighting the need for further substantial and comprehensive changes in economic and societal aspects that will greatly benefit both nations.

Ambassador Bing stated that China will always stand with Somalia and continue strengthening its support.

The Chinese Government has allocated $15 million in aid this March 2024, and the Somali Ministry of Health has also received urgent medical aid from China. The aid will enhance emergency healthcare services in Somalia and will assist those in need.
