Jilib Marka (SD) – The Danab Commandos of the Somali National Army (SNA) in a planned operation in Jilib Marka area of Lower Shabelle region today destroyed a car filled with explosives’, according to state media.

The operation, which took place this morning, was aimed at dismantling Al Shabaab plots against the public, at the same time, the army claimed it destroyed bases where the anti-peace militias were hiding.

Officials leading the operation told state media that the operation was aimed at thwarting the enemy’s attempt to transport an explosive-laden vehicle to Mogadishu to harm civilians.

On the other hand, the Somali National Army (SNA) has carried out a planned operation in Mubarak, Dar es Salaam, and Isoo-Mareey areas of Awdheegle district in Lower Shabelle region, destroying terrorist hideouts.

The operation was carried out by the 3rd Brigade of the 17th Battalion of the Gorgor Army Commandos and was also led by Commander Abdullahi Mustaf Ali Madale Qaran.

The Somali National Army (SNA) claimed it has destroyed several terrorist hideouts and sites for the production of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) targeting civilians.

The main purpose of the operation was to completely eradicate the enemy from the areas under the control of Awdhegle district in Lower Shabelle region.
