Mogadishu (SD) – Somalia’s Special Forces (Danab) said it conducted an operation in Sablale district in Lower Shabelle region, killing an Al-Shabaab official.

Reports say that the planned operation targeted a house in Sablale district where the officer and ten of his bodyguards were killed.

The slain officer was identified as Mu’ad Dheere, an al-Shabaab operative in the Jubba regions.

“The commandos were aware that the officer and his entourage arrived in Sablale on Saturday night, Danab carried out a planned operation in the district and entered their house in Sablale and shot the officer and his ten members on the spot.” Danab forces said in a released statement.

Al-Shabaab has not yet commented on the operation that killed their operative Mu’ad Dheere, a senior member of the group.
