ADALE (SD) – The Somali National Army DANAB has carried out an operation in Mudug region have seized control of a vehicle full of a explosives in Mudug region from Al Shabaab militants, reports said.

The operation took place on the outskirts of Adale in the southern Mudug region, where al-Shabaab members recently went and set fire to civilian homes.

Officials from the Galmudug Darawish Forces who also took part in the operation said that their forces arrested the Al-Shabaab members who were driving the car bomb, and will conduct further investigations.

The forces said they intel that Al-Shabaab was planning to plant bombs on the Galkayo-Hobyo road.

Galmudug and DANAB government forces and Al-Shabaab fighters have clashed several times in Mudug region.
