BELEDWEYN (SD) -Various reports are emerging about two landmine explosions that occurred in the town of Jalalaqsi in the Hiran region, resulting in casualties and injuries.
The first explosion occurred at a checkpoint in the western part of Jalalaqsi, where Macawisley militia forces were stationed. According to local sources, the explosion led to the death of two people and injured three others.
The second explosion occurred near the same checkpoint, also resulting in the deaths of two people and injuring two others. This brings the total number of casualties from the two landmine explosions to four deaths and four injuries.
The injured individuals were taken to the main hospital in Jalalaqsi town, where they are receiving medical treatment.
Additionally, ATMIS forces stationed in the town have cut off the town’s communication network, possibly due to security concerns following the explosions. The forces are currently conducting security operations to ensure safety, although the local authorities have not yet commented on the casualties resulting from the two landmine explosions at the western checkpoint of Jalalaqsi town.
