DJIBOUTI (SD) -The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, participated in a meeting hosted by the Republic of Djibouti, which aimed to facilitate discussions between the Federal Government of Somalia and Somaliland.

Hassan Sheikh met with the outgoing leader of Somaliland, Muse Bihi, in a meeting that also involved President Guelleh.

The government of Somaliland underlined the importance of the meeting between the outgoing President and the President of Somalia in resolving the historical issues between Somalia and Somaliland.

The outcomes of the meeting are not yet known, while observers suggest that the discussions may include amendments to the Somali Federal Constitution.
