BAKOL (SD) -The Somali National Army has carried out planned operations between Garasweyne and Huddur in Bakol region.

Military commanders have reported that they eliminated the leader of Al-Shabaab in the Bakol region, known as Hirane.

Commander of the 9th Brigade, of the Armed Forces operating in the Bakool region, Major Yonis Adan Hassan, confirmed the killing of the militant leader.

Major Yonis Adan Hassan noted that the AS leader was also killed along with some of his bodyguards. Al-Shabaab has yet to release any information regarding the claims of the government forces.
