Djibouti (SD) – Local state media in Djibouti confirm that Djiboutian Minister of Presidency and Investment Ali Guelleh Abubakar has died of Coronavirus.

The Minister have been battling the virus for few days in Djibouti’s main hospital last few days, according to reports.

Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh, who was a close friend of the minister, sent his condolences to the relatives of the minister and the people of Djibouti and described the minister as a good man who sacrificed for the Republic of Djibouti.

Djibouti confirmed the highest cases of COVID-19 in the East Africa countries, and Minister Ali Guelleh is the highest ranking official to died of the disease in Djibouti.
Djibouti government has so far confirmed 1,008 cases of COVID-19 in the country.
