Qardho (SD0 – Reports from Qardho district in Puntland’s Karkaar region say heavy rains caused massive displacement, casualties and property damage.

Local residents report heavy floods in town killed four people in the past few hours and left eight hundred people displaced and scattered.

The regional administration and the district told the media that they are working hard to provide emergency services and rescue the flood victims.

Some of the displaced residents face food and medicine shortages as they flee to surrounding villages.

The Somali Federal President in a speech today, called on both Somalis and the international community to help the flood victims in Qardho.
