Djiboutian President Guelleh returns after medical examination

Djibouti (SD) – Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh has returned to Djibouti today, from a private trip to France for rest and medical examination, according to the Djiboutian Foreign Minister.

The President was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Djibouti and other government officials at the airport.

The government of Djibouti has denied reports on social media about President Ismail Omar Guelleh’s well being.

The reports, which were also reported by some media outlets, said President Guelleh has flown to France, because of poor health.

Djibouti’s Foreign Minister Mahmoud Ali Youssouf has denied the allegations in a statement posted on Twitter.

“President Ismail Omar Guelleh is fine, all the reports circulating about his health are far from the truth,” said Mohamud Ali Yusuf.

The minister added that President Guelleh would resume his duties in a few days. And that there is nothing to worry about.
