BAIDOA (SD) – Somalia’s Federal Electoral Commission (FIET) has approved the Hop-103 and HOP-204 seats in the South West constituency.
The electoral commission also said that the HOP154 seat would be re-elected.
This comes after the FEIT chairman and other members are visiting Baidoa and met with South West Administration leaders to resolve the dispute of the three elected MPs.
“We are informing the Somali people that members of parliament from the South West will go directly to Mogadishu and the swearing-in ceremony, after receiving their membership certificates,” the commission said in a statement.
Abdi Hiis Udan, the finance director of the FIET committee, confirmed that the Hop154 seat won by the MP had not been done properly.
Members of the Electoral Commission led by Chairman Muse Gelleh and Galmudug President Ahmed Qoor Qoor are in Baidoa to resolve the disputed seats.
