Hargeisa (SD) – The Minister of Communications and Technology of the Republic of Somaliland met with the EU Special Envoy Ambassador Nicolas Berlanga Martinez.

The meeting was attended by the EU Special Envoy, Ambassador Nicolas Berlanga Martinez, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdiweli Abdullahi Sufi, Director General Eng. Ali Abdullahi Dahir, Director of E-Government Mustapha Daud and Adviser to the Minister of Liban A. Anshur.

Ambassador Nicolas said the EU will support the Ministry of Technology’s Implementation of E-Government’s five-year plan and overall technology development in Somaliland, expressing satisfaction with the five-year E-Government Plan prepared by the ministry.

The Minister of Communications thanked the Ambassador and the EU for their continued support to the Ministry and Somaliland as a whole.

The Ministry of Communications has not disclosed to the public its various plans for the management of the privately owned telecommunications companies who currently operate in vacuum.
