Mogadishu (SD) – Reports from the Lower Shabelle region of Somalia indicate that a roadside blast targeted AMISOM troops in that region.

The landmine blast was said to have caused the deaths at least two soldiers and injuries other targeted AMISOM troops.

Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the two soldiers were clearing a roadside mine at the time of the blast.

There was no immediate word from AMISOM or government forces regarding the blast.
