Mogadishu (SD) –Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has yet again reconvened a meeting of Federal Government and Regional Administration leaders on March 22nd, according to a released statement from the presidency.
“The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo called for a meeting on March 22, 2021, to finalize the electoral efforts and negotiations between the Federal Government of Somalia, State Governments and the Benadir Regional Administration.” Said the statement.
Adding that “The two-day meeting is to conclude the recommendations of the Technical Selection Committee Meeting on 15-16 February 2021 in Baidoa.”
The president of Somalia Mohamed Farmajo did not say where the conference would take place.
The President reminded the Somali officials of the importance of the conference “President Farmajo urged the Heads of State and Government of Benadir Region to pay close attention to this conference to address the concerns raised by the return of the electoral agreement in order to lead the country to free and fair elections.”
The announced conference will be Farmajo’s fourth since his term ended on February 8th, with all other conferences rejected by the regional leaders of Jubaland and Puntland.
