Mogadishu (SD) – Minister of State for the Presidency of Galmudug State Omar Shido in a Facebook post confirms failure of talks between President Farmajo and Prime Minister Roble.
“The efforts of the President of Galmudug have gone through many stages and at times the meetings lasted for almost 18 hours, ended tonight, with PM Roble’s wing showing maturity, while the other side’s arguments forced the talks to end tonight,” said Shido.
Among the points of contention were Farmajo’s insistence on the removal of the newly appointed security minister Abdullahi Mohamed Nur and to have an ally be appointment as the NISA commander.
Roble believes that if someone from Farmajo’s side or current NISA officers are appointed to the NISA leadership, then chances are Ikraan Tahlil’s family will not get Justice, her disappearance is at the heart of the dispute between the two officials.
The offices of the President and the Prime Minister have not yet released any details of their latest talks.
The collapse of the Farmajo-Roble talks is the second in two weeks.
