Mogadishu (SD) – A suicide bomber blew himself up near the Medina Hospital in Mogadishu this afternoon, causing no casualties, according to the Somali Police Force.
Reports say the blast was carried out by a person walking by himself wearing explosives vest, although the exact target of the blast is unknown.
Somali police spokesman Abdifatah Aden Hassan said in a statement, “24-09-2021 at around 15:03 PM a suicide bomber blew himself up between Medina Hospital and Villa Baidoa, there were no casualties. except for the culprit.”
The suicide bomber reportedly was targeting a compound housing Somali federal government officials.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for today’s suicide attack in Mogadishu.
