Mogadishu January 09, 2023 (SD) – The Minister of Finance of the Federal Government of Somalia and the ministers of Somalia’s Federal Member States have today begun a meeting in Mogadishu.

The meeting focuses on economic development, the national financial system, debt relief conditions, and the unification of taxes in the country.

The Federal Minister of Finance, Dr. Cilmi Maxamuud Nuur, officially opened the meeting and said that it is important for the Ministers of Finance of the Federal Government and the Federal Member States to come together.

The Federal Minister of Finance said they will focus on issues that are important for the country’s economic development, the unification of tax systems, and the completion of the requirements for the debt relief program.

The meeting of the Ministers of Finance of the Federal Government, the Federal Member States, and the Banadir region will also discuss development projects supported by the World Bank in Somalia and financial aid.
