Galgadud (SD) – Reports from Galgadud region in Galmudug indicate that fighting broke out in an area called Qalanqale west of the regional capital.

The fighting broke out between two tribal militias in the area, who are fighting over grazing land.

Locals indicated to the press that the sides were seen using heavy weaponry and that the fighting has intensified in the last 24 hours.

It is not yet clear the exact casualties caused by the fighting in the area.

The situation is extremely volatile, with reports that the fighting has spread to villages near Qalanqale in Galgadud region.

Federal and regional authorities didn’t yet address the fighting in Galmudug and there are no known other mediation efforts to stop the fighting.
