Mogadishu (SD) – Former President of the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed said he had discussion on the phone with British Ambassador to Somalia, Ambassador Ben Fender.

In a statement released by the Sheikh Sharif, said the two had discussed the preparations for the 2020/2021 election, dealing with Covid-19, the relationship between the federal government and member states and the reconciliation process implemented by the Galmudug and Jubaland administrations.

Former President Sheikh Sharif also pointed out that he had discussed with the ambassador the Somalia-Somaliland talks, which are still pending.

Ultimately we have agreed that creating a stable environment and inclusive politics is the only solution to achieving a free and fair election process.
