Lasanod Feb10, 2023(SD) – -The battle between the military and local forces in Laascaanood, the capital of Sool region, is still ongoing and is now in its fourth day.

Latest reports indicate that heavy gunfire can still be heard around the outskirts of the city.

The reports also say that the city’s water supply has stopped due to damage to the water storage facility from the fighting.

The casualties from the battle continue to increase, as most of the residents of the city have fled.

The government of Somaliland has previously stated that it is fighting against extremist groups in Laascaanood, but local elders denied the accusations and are insisting that Somaliland leave their regions.
