Washington Feb 10, 2023 (SD) – The United States has announced that it cannot accept indiscriminate attacks on civilian populations in the city of Lasanod, the capital of the Sool region.

A statement from the U.S. Bureau of African Affairs stated that the fighting must be stopped immediately and that civilians must be protected.

The US government also stated that it is necessary to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches those affected by the conflict and that any disputes should be resolved through dialogue.

This statement from the US government comes as the fourth day of fighting continues in Lasanod between Somaliland forces and residents who are against Somaliland’s control of the city.
