MOGADISHU (SD) – The first day of the speeches of the candidates for the 10th presidency of the Federal Government of Somalia has concluded at the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.
The 20 candidates selected by the Electoral Commission today addressed members of both Houses of Parliament in their speeches on their political background and what they will do if elected President.
The remaining 19 registered candidates will address lawmakers tomorrow on their political backgrounds, including President Farmajo and two other former presidents.
Candidates who spoke and those who will speak tomorrow are believed to be out of touch as it relates to the country’s security and stabilization needs, and seem to be just vying for the coveted top post.
Somalia’s long awaited presidential elections are scheduled for this coming Sunday May 15, 2022.
