Galkayo (SD) – The meeting between Galmudug and Puntland regional presidents Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoor and Said Abdullahi Dani has today taken place in northern Galkayo.

The meeting’s aim was to enhance co-operation between the two regional governments on security, reconciliation and politics.

The meeting was attended by ministers, members of parliament and other members of the Galmudug and Puntland administrations, and the conference focused on strengthening cooperation between the two sides in their fight against al-Shabaab.

Puntland President, Mr. Abdullahi Deni and Galmudug President Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoor praised the bilateral cooperation, there will be committees working on putting the agreements into action.

The two leaders, who spoke to the media, said they were very pleased with the agreement they had reached and that the agreements would be implemented immediately.
