DHUSAMAREB (SD) – The Somali police force in Galmudug state has tonight released the names and pictures of the wanted leaders and officials of Ahlu Sunna group of 32 members.

Galmudug police say the leader of Ahlu Sunna, Sheikh Shakir Ali Hassan, and other members of the Ahlu Sunna militia are on the run in parts of Galgadud.

The members of Ahlu Sunna, whose names have been released, include current senior members of the Somali army and military, most of whom are former members of Ahlu Sunna.

The police in Galmudug have appealed to the public to report the wanted members if seen in the region.

The Arrest warrant for the Ahlu Sunna members by the regional police comes days after Ahlu Sunna fighters launched a major offensive in Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug, resulting in heavy casualties.
