Dhusamareb (SD) – Galmudug state security minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, today on a post Facebook announced his resignation.

In the statement, the Galmudug security minister stated that he had submitted his resignation to the President of Galmudug but it was not clear if it was accepted.

Today, I have submitted my resignation to the President of Galmudug, as we do not agree on how to deal with the conflict between him and ASWJ, which he has chosen the path of war and conflict which will leave Galmudug in the lurch.” Said Fiqi.

Fiqi also leveled accusation against the Galmudug President for leveraging Villa Somalia in his decision to fight.

“The president, deployed troops from Mogadishu without consulting with Galmudug security officials, I suggest that the path to dialogue and non-violence is easier, less difficult, and more successful, and that we focus on the fight against Al Shabaab terrorists and direct the ongoing offensive.

Minister Fiqi was one of the most influential ministers in Galmudug, and his resignation indicates the division of the Galmudug administration over action against Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a.
