Somaliland: we’ve deported Roble and ILO for corruption

Las Anod (SD) – Somaliland’s information and interior ministers at a presser today, described Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble as a “corrupt individual”.

Information Minister Saleban Yusuf Ali Kore said Roble at time was so corrupt that the Somaliland government decided not to work with him as the ILO representative in Hargeisa, which led to his firing.

“The Prime Minister used to work in Hargeisa with the ILO organization, He was the most corrupt individual in history. When Somaliland couldn’t tolerate his corruption, Mohamed Kahin, the interior minister, deported him from Hargeisa. Today he is appearing in front of people and telling them what to do.” Minister Kore said.

Interior Minister, Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, also speaking at the presser, confirmed he had expelled Roble and the UN organization he represented from Somaliland.

“Minister Kore is indeed correct, the prime minister of Somalia worked for the International Labor Organization (ILO). He was working with three ministries, and all three of have agreed that this man is not responsible, and I wrote his deportation letter, “said Minister Kahin.

The Somaliland government expelled the UN’s ILO from Somaliland in 2019, accusing the agency of failing to work with its partner ministries, failing to act and respond on time.
