MOGADISHU (SD) -Reports from Waberi district in Mogadishu, confirm the death of Elmi Haji Leged, an employee of the Somalia Ministry of Finance tax department, by gunmen in Waberi today.

According to the reports, Elmi Leged, was assassinated in a coffee shop in Waberi, and the murders fled the scene.

Police task forces arrived at the scene and started an investigation but were unsuccessful in apprehending the killers.

The country has been shaken by a spree of killings of civilians and government officials, as the country’s parliamentary election season draws to conclusion, most of the offenders have escaped and not been brought to justice.
